Application Procedure - Postal

How to apply by post (7 simple steps)

A postal application allows you to complete your visa process without visiting the Visa Application Centre. You prepare your documents at home, pay your fees online or at a CITIC Bank counter, and send your application to us by mail. Once it is processed by the consular authority, your passport is returned to you by express courier. If you need more information, please consult our FAQ page.

Prepare your documents

Check the required documents for your travel purposes and prepare your application file carefully.

Make sure you choose the correct travel purpose.

Create and activate your TLScontact account

Create your account on our website and activate it using the link sent to your email.

Complete your online application

Log in, fill in your personal details exactly as shown in your passport, and submit your online form.

If you apply with family members, add all applicants before submitting the group.

Select the “Postal Application” method

Choose Postal Application, enter your postal return address, and select the “Express Courier Return”.

Pay the required fees

Pay the visa fee, service fee and any added value services through CITIC Bank (online or at a CITIC Bank counter).

Include your receipt with barcode or payment proof from CITIC bank in your postal package.

Send your application by post

Mail your complete application, including your proof of payment, to the correct TLScontact centre for your consular zone.

Once you choose Postal Application, you cannot submit your application file in person.

Important: Incomplete applications will be returned. Documents submitted separately (unless requested) cannot be accepted.

Processing and passport return

TLScontact confirms receipt and forwards your application file to the consular authority. You may track the progress of your visa application via your TLScontact account.

The consular authority will review your application. They will contact you by phone or email if additional documents or an interview are required.

Once your passport is returned to TLScontact, it will be sent back to you by Express Courier using the address you provided.
